Stand up for yourself, don't tell them shit about your trade in. And get pre approved. When I traded in Malibu I owed 4k. I told them that. They all offered me at 4200 to 4500 when it should have been more in the 5500 range. If I would have told them more than that they would have offered that I feel I am looking at a 2015 Jeep Patriot 4x4 . Then after you have your price set negotiate your trade in value with them. Next step is finanacing and don't ever give them a price you're looking to pay because they will make sure you do by manipulating your interest rate and length of payments even if they could give you lower payments. make them show you everything they are doing before you say ok. Dealers like to intentionally charge people higher interest because they get a kickback from the finance company if they do. Really though it's best to get pre approved by a bank like n8 said if you can because then you know how much you have to work with and you can leverage it to get the car price down. Tell them no to gap insurance it's way cheaper from your auto insurance company. Also lots of times you can also get them to Throw in the first few oil changes for free as well. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Jeeps have your typical Chrysler wire harness issues die electric grease all connections.
