MaxVolume
Does his shop carry alts? Does his shop carry batteries? I got into car audio wanting to open a shop that does things RIGHT. High quality installs with extensive equipment and vehicle knowledge. Got to school and learned...if you want to work on cars...go to "car school"....if you want to open a shop...go to "business school". Learned alot about shops and owners and why they acted the way they did. They're trying to feed their family and keep the doors open, same as you. Little advice for you here. No one makes an alt that fits your car? Well in that case EVERYONE makes an alt that fits your car. Find one you like (I'd recommend a tried and true company but whatever floats your boat) take it to a machinist with your vehicle, and have them fabricate an alt bracket. BAM alt fits. Still need to figure out how much extra belt you need and how to wire it up to your vehicles electrical, but in simplest terms that's about it. Tecknodude180
Well sure you can play it stupid loud using batteries. But if you want to play it loud for like a long road trip, your gonna need a ho alternator! See if your system is using 250 amps of current but your alt only puts out 80, your going to take that extra 170 from your batteries. And depending on how big your battery bank is will determine how long you can play your system before you need to turn it off and wait for it to charge back up bc you will kill your batteries and eventually your engine bc your engine needs power to. Jessica
I ran 3k off two batts and a 60 amp alt. Bet your ass I had to charge my batteries often. Could only play for about 5 minutes before I started seeing 11's too. Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. islandpride684
Dude! They are right, sht fk HO alts, fk batteries, man you should wire solar panels on the roof of your car and get a prepaid plan from walmart, I think you get about 13volts a min so I would get the unlimited plan, the way it works is that the solar panel charges off the rotation of your tires, so you gotta drive around if your voltage drops below 13...but anyways good luck.... ROLEXrifleman
You don't really need batteries either. Those in the know just run potatoes. Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice
REH
You don't really need batteries either. Those in the know just run potatoes. I like to use lemons for my batteries instead of potatoes though, Yellow is more flashy and good looking and then just in case of emergency you've always got lemonade.
