So a buddy of mine at the shop I work at demos lots of subs for people in his ride. But to do so he must go swap the speaker wires.

My question is, can you guys think of a easy way to switch woofers on the fly? Say a button or a switch? Almost like a in car sound board

Obviously this is assuming both subs are of proper ohm load and also assuming that only one sub is on at a time.

Tony Candella ... done..

he can put up a board, with swtiches that can "swap" impedance and wires....

Ask him.

Misunderstood it Nate. Its ment to swap woofers on the fly.

Example... Listen to this JL w3 8... Now listen to this dd redline 500 series 10. Now listen to this illusion carbon series 12.

That's what he does on demos to sell people stuff, and he wanted a better way to do it besides getting out and swapping wires.

Wouldn't you need different amps for each set up if they are different RMS? I would imagine you can just have various remote wires that run through switches that can turn on and turn off amps as needed.

You misunderstood too. There is a single JL 5 channel on multiple sub set ups. This is a sales tactic to hear the different subs on the same power in the same vehicle.

Example. Guy walks in, and wants to hear how the JL preloaded dual 8's sound vs say a preloaded DD redline 12 since they are in a similar price range. Ect ect ect.

VW hatchback

He normally has 3-4 different enclosures in there at all times. All are between .75 cubes and 1.75 cubes and all are pre loaded closures sold by companies they carry, such as DD illusion and JL.

Edit: disclaimer...

This is not a SPL or sq car with built in optimized systems like we all have. This is his personal car with multiple enclosures that are all preloaded with a single sub or multiple subs that will enjoy 400-700 rms depending on what's hooked up. And he has a JL HD 5 channel with 500 rms on the sub channel to power the enclosure he chooses.

Again. He does this to sell product. So if a guy wants to try to hear the difference between a dual 8 box from JL and a single 12 preloaded from dd.

Double again. Most of these subs would cry on the power we have on our front stages, not less our bass amps. These are all small... Preloaded... Enclosures with tiny subs. I think the heaviest sub in his car is 17lbs, and it's the $1000 illusion c12XL.
