Joseph Chambers
I have a question: When I'm applying sound deadener in the doors - should I just place 2 sheets in different positions in the door or do I cover the entire interior of the door? i.e. overkill? TaylorFade
If you have a properly designed real CLD... 25% coverage is about all you need. But it doesn't hurt anything to do 100% coverage. If it's not a true CLD then you need all the help you can get. Go ape shit.

alaskanzx5
I'll be 100% covered, plus closes cell foam in the front doors and behind all the trim pieces. Deadener is to reduce panel vibration. Which is great. But you can still have air Bourne noises and trim/panels rattling against each other. Which is where ccf comes in. The foam acts as a barrier for air born noise and helps prevent those trim/panels from rattling up against other stuff. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. Souldrop
25% is a good starting point. After that your mileage may vary. You run into diminishing returns. If you go 100% it can't hurt, but if you do 25% you can cut the sheets up and place in the middle of large flat areas. 1997 Lexus ES300 HU - Pioneer MVH 7350 Processor - Helix DSP Front Stage - JBL P660C Mid/high amp - Alpine PDX-F4 Subs - 1 IA Death Penalty 12 Sub Amp - Cactus Sounds PF300.
Souldrop
If you're going for luxury quiet you will need mlv and ccf applied to the door. Also seal up holes in the door as best you can. Use a couple layers of flashing or some thin metal that's pliable. Deaden that as well. 1997 Lexus ES300 HU - Pioneer MVH 7350 Processor - Helix DSP Front Stage - JBL P660C Mid/high amp - Alpine PDX-F4 Subs - 1 IA Death Penalty 12 Sub Amp - Cactus Sounds PF300.
moredbs
I put as much deadener as i could the first time around, didn't want to have to mess with it again. i put it on everything that was metal that i could reach. no such thing as overkill imo. Joseph Chambers
Thanks for all your advice today. I think I will start at 25% because this shit is expensive! haha. Today it goes in. One question though: I have a buddy who says the truck bed liner in the floorboard also helps and that I can use that on the floorboard of the truck. Is that true? If you're going for luxury quiet you will need mlv and ccf applied to the door. whats mlv and ccf? My buddy whom I mentioned above will be doing my interior all leather. Here in mexico I can get a full hide for $120 and its a lot thicker than in the states.
