dsw422
the speaker grill in this picture off to the side.. the Camaro im building for has no speaker there.. and im tring to stay away from sealed.. ( last resort!!) and I cant turn the tube inside for proper length due to the size of the woofer.. takes up any space that the port would need to make the turn.. and don't want to cut a hole in the plastic panels since this s a show car.. 2014 Ford Focus SE Sedan Factory Sony 10 Speaker Sound System 1994 Ford Bronco Dual head unit (i kno) Sony door speakers Kenwood Rear Speakers Custom Center console in the works. will house an NVX NSW10" https://m.facebook.com/WinnsCustomCarAudio/
reedal
Then redesign your port so you can route it into the speaker hole to come out there and have the tuning you want SMD Tool Map https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/193176-smd-tool-map-new-november-2014/ Build log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/197217-reeds-03-tahoe-hat-sqaq-singer-xs-shca-cockbox-80prs/?page=
Broke_Audio_Addict
Why is sealed a last resort? Guarantee you it will sound better than porting it to the inside of the body. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. P4killer_
Hiding ports behind panels is asking for trouble. If its anything the 2 12 pic above, either port forward or sealed. Unless you tube it all the way to that speaker opening or w.e and outlet straight out of there. baron_of_bass
The distance between the port and what it's going to unload off of has to be the size of the opening of the port. For example of you have a 4 in. aero port it has to be at least 4 in. from the panel it's going to unload off of, make sense? It has to be able to unload off something. To me it sounds like you're trying to block it off. Team Bass-Hz
dsw422
the port wouldn't be blocked it would be blowing into the area behind the panel... and the pic above with the 2 12s follows a different line.. I am actually following the body panel lines 2014 Ford Focus SE Sedan Factory Sony 10 Speaker Sound System 1994 Ford Bronco Dual head unit (i kno) Sony door speakers Kenwood Rear Speakers Custom Center console in the works. will house an NVX NSW10" https://m.facebook.com/WinnsCustomCarAudio/
gckless
Either port it out the top, or go sealed. Don't know why so many people are afraid of sealed, just choose the right drivers and you'll be happy. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. n8ball2013
That's going to be a long port to get anywhere near useable. Even if it's behind a panel it's not going to be much better than sealed. Why not a slot port? reedal
The panel will only act as an extension of the port and the sound will only resonate in there and then bottle neck out of that speaker cutout. As I said before. It's not going to play the way you think it will. Output frequency into the cabin will change and your output won't be as loud as it should be. Change your design or change the port enough to port it through that speaker cutout to retain frequency desired SMD Tool Map https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/193176-smd-tool-map-new-november-2014/ Build log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/197217-reeds-03-tahoe-hat-sqaq-singer-xs-shca-cockbox-80prs/?page=
