Alpine PDX small & great amps

I've got an Alpine PDX-F4.

100w x4 @ 4ohms

100w x4 @ 2 ohms

Small little amp that puts out a good amount. Birth sheet said 127w RMS/channel. Had for two years and it's going hard. Also it never ever gets warm.

decently priced: hertz, ground zero, rockford fosgate

budget friendly: zapco, alpine, jbl, soundqubed

*zapcos budget friendly stuff is affordable...they have amps for deep pockets too...thats not you though, or me for that matter.

Also you can always go used too. Its a gamble and I wouldn't do it unless you really know what you are looking at but it can be good.

stay away from anything that doesn't do rated on the dyno or is made by Maxxsonics corporation.

Also check around for gckless reviews and Taylorfade reviews a lot of good stuff in those.

Nice thread. I've been tinkering in my head of what 4-channel to use. I've never heard the NVX amps in person, but the subs put out what's rated if not more.

What about Audiopipe? I know they look like cheap plastic, but they have aluminum heat sinks. They're cheap and have lots of options depending on what your stage is.

Plus Sonic Electronix always has sales going on.

And this, this is like my little window to the world, and every minute's a different show. Now I may not understand it. I may not even necessarily agree with it. But I'll tell you what, I accept it and just sort of glide along. You want to keep things on an even keel, I guess is what I'm saying. You want to go with the flow. The sea refuses no river. That's where you guys come in. It's like you come onto this planet with a crayon box. Now you may get the eight-pack, you may get the sixteen-pack, but it's all in what you do with the crayons, the colors, that you're given. And don't worry about drawing within the lines or coloring outside the lines. I say color outside the lines, you know what I mean? Color right off the page. Don't box me in! personally id be embarassed to have audiopipe in my car lol.

seems theres alot of decent 4 channels out there to be had in the 200-300 dolla range new with warranty

Amps im currently considering are the nvx 800.4 and the infinity kappa four (i wonder if these are the same amps rms ratings similar and so is the amp size) Ive always had good luck with infinity for mids and highs although the kappa stuff is not very cheap. what makes those 2 amps attractive to me is the size and the price, also have alot of personal experience with infinity however the infintiy 4 channel i got gets hot at 4 ohms per channel not sure how it would handle 2 ohms per channel

I wouldn't spend one dime of my money on that garbage.

You know it's junk too.

I think all the burned up audiopipe amps speaks for itself.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
