jrath
I have an XS Power HF1215 battery charger. My rear battery bank consists of one XS Power D3100 and one XS Power Lithium 15K. Can I simply connect my battery charger to the battery bank and let it charge both batteries? Are there any concerns I need to regard with charging this battery bank? chris@xspower
to charge a lithium with our AGM charger you will have to monitor the charge process once the battery is full. remove the charger. do not let it set in float mode. with this being said, It would be easier on you and the battery bank to charge the batteries one at a time. jrath
Chris, If I charge the Lithium battery by itself, will the HF1215 charger turn off automatically when the Lithium battery is completely charged (like it does when I charge my D3100)? If not, how do I know when the charging process is complete for the Lithium battery.
reedal
With a multimeter so you can read what the voltage is at. chris@xspower
The charger goes into a float mode when a battery is fully charged. It has a lower voltage that when the battery is absorbing the charge but still has to high of a continuous charge for the lithium. we have a specific lithium charger that actually cuts itself completely off once charged. simply once the AGM charger goes into float mode. pull it off the lithium and your ready to go! Karkov
Interesting stuff, good to know! I asked similar question a while back and got myself all confused, this explains it quite well, thanks! Even the first time you get it home and hook it on the charger? it's not like charging a capacitor? maybe my thinking is just way off today, idk anymore.......
