n8ball2013
I think the time has come to get he batteries out from under the wall and move them to the toolbox like so many others have done. This should give me more room for batteries than I currently have and won't take me two months to swap one if something happens. My question is how many of you are running them without a tonneau cover? I honestly don't like the look and I'm concerned with the security of the toolbox. I'm also concerned about finding one for he step side bed that is an under rail. I've spent too much money to do an over the rail box. I'd of course Wire In a sensor for the toolbox for my alarm but just wanted to check and get some thoughts for those that have done it THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger. KiKaZz74
Isn't this what Andrew, black nasty did? I forget if that is stepside but a flush mount or under the rail box. There's a few one here I think that seemed to have worked good. I'd still be worried about getting it sealed all the way around the top and the wires. Broke_Audio_Addict
Sell all your batts and just run a few big lithiums under the wall. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. boom50cal
Tractor supply sells a nice under the rail box. My dad just got one, and it fits in the bed of his 03 SuperCrew, which is like the same size as a stepside GM bed. I'll pm you a pic tomorrow when I can take a lighted picture of it. I love having my secondary in the tool box. Was able to keep the cabin a lot less cluttered that way. Makes it easier to run any accessories where I need them, like the winch on my car hauler. First link is what my dad has. http://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/tractor-supply-co-single-lid-aluminum-chest-tool-box-black-46-in-l http://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/tractor-supply-co-46-in-texture-black-tool-box-chest On 1/4/2013 at 9:31 PM, HatersGonnaHate said: Wow. 184 posts and I think you're a fucking asshole. n8ball2013
Those boxes would fit I have 49 wide. I don't want to take a bath in batteries. I spent enough on them last year. I just want to use that space under the wall for some things. And want to redo some stuff. I was told I couldn't do what I did. Point proven. boom50cal
I'm trying to remember the frame width, but it wouldn't be very hard at all to drill through the box, bed, and into a the frame rails to bolt it down and stay secured. Use like a 3 or 4 inch PVC connector with lock ring and bushing to bring all the wire up in. Maybe even use your existing cab vents to bring the runs to the amps in, if you can still access them. imo, would do the fuel pump while you are there, because it's a LOT easier to pull the bed off than drop the tank, if you haven't already. n8ball2013
Fuel pump was done two summers ago so about 1500 miles I never run it below a half tank really either so it stays cool. I've got a way to get wire into the cab already. Bolting it down should be a piece of cake actually. I've got a lot of planning into this one just got to pony up for it.
