Weatherproofing an Enclosure????

Ok guys, so I'm just wondering something real quick. If i end up with a 4th order blow through, I need to weather proof it.

I sold the shell on my truck last week. It was falling apart and didn't really fit the truck right. Plus I needed the money at the moment. My plan is to get a tonneau cover at some point. But, until then, I need to figure out how to weather proof the enclosure I'm going to build. It will be sitting exposed. My plan is to use birch to build it.

This was my though, please let me know if I'm far off, or overkilling or what not. I've never done this, but having a construction background, I'm pretty knowledgeable with the weather proofing of a building.

My plan was to double wall everything first of all. However, instead of doubling it all up, and having the top removable, I'm thinking of having the port wall removable. I need to have a removable wall to install the subs etc. My port is around 22 x 10 and while that's a decent sized port, my fat ass isn't fitting through there. So to wire up and screw the subs in etc, I want to have a removable wall. I'm figuring that if I make it so that the sides and top and bottom enclose the port wall, then the seams will be semi hidden from the elements.

I'll build the enclosure first, and then Remove the port wall. Then I was thinking fiberglass the outside with a couple of layers. Sand it down. Then spray on a couple or few layers of the Rustoleum Leak Seal. If I get the edges where the port wall and the enclosure meet, then that should also provide a nice tight seal as well. After that I was thinking some spray on bed liner over the leak seal would really seal it all up nicely.

There won't be any plexi or anything like that, so nothing like that needs to be sealed up.

So am I on the right track or what do you all have for some other tips or suggestions?

I will get a tonneau cover so at some point it won't matter, but I highly doubt I'll have one by the time this is built.

I'd primer it then Bedliner it, no reason to waste money on resin.

2 coats of resin for a good soak, scuff it up, and apply garage floor epoxy. Add colored garage floor sprinkles for flair.

depends on the look you want you can bed liner it you can stain and seal it you can use resin many options

i used raptor liner (ebay 130$) on my blowthru and it held up nice thru the winter. i made sure to rough up the wood where you apply liner so it holds up nice. didnt resin up at all.

I already have the bed bed-lined with LineX, so bed lining would match it. I honestly just figured it would need more than that.

The bed lining would waterproof it fully as long as you make sure it is 100% covered
