If this happens it's going to set a precedent for every device on the planet. Not just a phone. And will impact everyone. Case in point. Look at how many people are on the no fly list or watch list without due process. They could be accused of terror activity and then bam all their data is going to get raided even though there is no crime. I could very well be on a list somewhere because I own guns. I own several on file with the atf and I order ammo on the Internet in bulk. I also have a drone so all that could be used to say I'm an extremist of some sort and bam they have their just cause to have my phone encryption broken. It's not just the case of the terrorist scum bags it's every person in the world. Is everyone really willing to give that up? Don't say you have nothing to hide. Everyone has something. Give the Feds what they want, then give a press release saying the brand new iPhone 17q or whatever fucking number they are up to now has even better encryption and will be secure.
