I saw on Wicks' build log that he used a slide-pull miter saw to quickly make a bunch of straight kerfs. My miter is not a slide-pull, so I dont know if I want to cut all those kerfs with a circ saw and a guide, as that was a PITA last time. Im also trying to make a 9.25" diameter kerfed curve, which may not be reasonable. Thanks for the input, though. So just leave a single or maybe two plies? Yeah I'd say 1-1.5 plies when setting depth I usually just use a piece of scrap and get it dialed in to where I can bend it pretty easily. There is math to determine spacing on your cuts, I usually do the math and then test it on a small strip of wood 1-2 inches wide to make sure it will form to the curve that I need. If you have patience you can do it with just a circular saw and no guide, I think I made the port on the table saw though as it was pretty large. I also recommend screwing at strip or two to the back so that your kerf doesn't bend the wrong way and break. It also gives you something to grab and push when you're using a table saw. You'll notice in this picture that the cuts are pretty much all the way through to the veneer but theres no lines on the outside. Whereas in this one my cuts weren't deep enough and you can kind of see the lines. I usually just sand them a little if this happens and it makes them a little less apparent. Separately grounded (middle) So as it turns out, my headlights on my car cause a lot of chassis ground noise. This RCA-ground concept would only (possibly) work if they were grounded to the battery post/bus. Well, I dont have noise now that I removed the RCA ground, so I'll retackle that IF i receive hum/noise/pops in the future AND if I can attribute it to the headunit. So for today, BYE noise: Chevy Sonic Wall (4) 15's on 10k Build Log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/209412-2015-chevy-sonicwall4-15s10klithiumlarge-case-hairpin-us-alts/ (4) Fi SP4 15's | (2) Ampere 5Ks | Active! | Arc KS600.2 & KS125.2mini | CDT Silk Domes | Silver Flute 8s | 240Ah JY | US Alts Jeep Wrangler JK (4) 8's in a 4th Order Build Log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/209841-shadow-2016-jeep-wrangler-jk4th-order4-8sdc-35klarge-case-hairpin-us-alts/ IG @walledsonic
WalledSonic
Used my miter saw to chop the post to the right angle for the welder: So this 1.5" threaded turnbuckle is absolutely ridiculous. Instead, I ordered the 1" version on McMaster Carr and I'll be returning this 1.5" version next week. Either way, the turnbuckle will sit right about here: Chevy Sonic Wall (4) 15's on 10k Build Log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/209412-2015-chevy-sonicwall4-15s10klithiumlarge-case-hairpin-us-alts/ (4) Fi SP4 15's | (2) Ampere 5Ks | Active! | Arc KS600.2 & KS125.2mini | CDT Silk Domes | Silver Flute 8s | 240Ah JY | US Alts Jeep Wrangler JK (4) 8's in a 4th Order Build Log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/209841-shadow-2016-jeep-wrangler-jk4th-order4-8sdc-35klarge-case-hairpin-us-alts/ IG @walledsonic
