Fusing on multiple runs

At the amplifier, only fuse what factory recommendation states. No use for a 200 amp fuse on a 60 amp draw amplifier. May as well not have a fuse at all.

He is not talking about amplifier anything Randell. He's talking about front to rear runs. Well that's how I'm reading it.

Hmm.What if the amp and battery are in the trunk and close to each other? Do I fuse 250/300A for the Knukoncept wire or do i fuse for the amp rating?

I currently have two set of 1 fuse for my DC5K connected to my battery with a 250A fuse. Also, if I double up (4 power runs total for my DC5K amp) do I need to reduce the fuse rating or keep it 250A for all the fuses?

So confused

this is true. front to back runs are based on Alt output. So you only need 2 runs , not 4

Fuse alt runs based on Alt output
Fuse amp runs based on what the manufacturer says. 
If you fuse to high they may never blow, that makes them useless

The fuse for the wire should be for the wires capacity. Not to protect equipment. If you want to try to protect the amp then put a fuse at the amp. The fuse for the runs front to back are only to keep the vehicle from burning down in case it were to get pinched in an accident. Fuses will be needed at the front and back on each run.

When the bass hits, the peak current could be double what the amps constant current is. The batteries in the back will help provide peak current, provided that they can re charge before the next bass hit. When the voltage starts to dip on a long bass note, then the amp along with the rear batteries will both need max current from the front. This would be the total alt output along with the front battery output of 600 amps or more.

amps our fused to spec alreadY between rear bank and amps. So basically your stating that  Fuse my front to back runs to Max amperage draw Plus because even though  I have a big bank of batteries it will eventually pull from up front. K that makes sense just trying to learn the logic behind this.
