Superspyer
I am having problems with my Chevy traverse audio system and I have talked the wife into letting me upgrade the entire system. I would like to do away with the factory wiring and run new wires to door speakers. Does anyone have any advice of how to drill and run the wires in the door jamb? Advice on what product to use to encase wire in the jamb? The traverse has the modular connections that in my opinion are garbage!
8ten8
Looked online. I see a rubber boot you can pass through. No drilling needed. You can use a long heavy-duty ziptie or fiberglass rod or something non-metallic to fish the wire.
3vil
Those factory plugs are great if you ever need to unhook EVERYTHING. You can locate unused pin locations in the plug and drill them out, then run wires through them (I've fit 12g in many plugs). However, if you ever need to unhook the whole plug it'll make things MUCH more difficult. Often times you can buy molex male and female pins, then add onto the factory connection if you need addioltional wires/channels.

WalledSonic
If ^^^ doesnt work, or if theres no room in the rubber boot connected to the Molex connector, just remove your door and drill holes. I had to do that on my Sonic. I used a bunch of heat shrink tubing and electrical tape to protect the wire. Ron36
What I did was remove the door and that big bulk connector in the jam has a lot of unused space , So I drilled a 1/4inch hole through it and ran my wiring through it.
