Markous
Looking for some help drawing up a cut sheet for a box i'm going to be building in the next few months. Rather than me trying to draw the cutsheet and end up fucking something up i thought i'd ask you helpful and kind folks here for something in a sketchup type view. Like to have a plan now so when the time comes in a month or two it's easy for me to give to the folks doing the cutting for me at a local Rona hardware store. This is the side view of what i 'd like to build, The width i figure will need to be 33". I plan to have the sub up and invert the PR's out the sides and between the negative displacement of them and the cutout i figure it will negate the volume required for the subwoofer and dowel bracing i plan on using. The notch in the one corner is so it fit's around a structural support in the cab of my truck as seen here with my current enclosure, i had to shape the edge under it to fit the angle using a tri-square ruler which worked surprisingly well. Like i said before i could probably draw it up myself but would like something in a sketchup type view so i don't hand the wood cutter a mess of a drawing. Many thanks in advance SMD box guru's '07 Ford Ranger - DM-608 I E700.4 I SA-CX6.5 v2 I SAZ-1500D 15th (x2) I Zv6 12" D1 I SB500-34 I JP40 I On 5/21/2015 at 7:07 PM, boom50cal said: of course he gives no fucks. it's a ford ranger. only bad mother fuckers drive ford rangers
reedal
there's an extension you can download for sketch-up called CutList that will do exactly what you need/want, if you already have your sketchup design saved/built SMD Tool Map https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/193176-smd-tool-map-new-november-2014/ Build log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/197217-reeds-03-tahoe-hat-sqaq-singer-xs-shca-cockbox-80prs/?page=
Markous
The fact that i even posted this thread has been bugging me all day, it was a moment of laziness that in the time it took to post i could have figured out myself. I intend to use 1" mdf and this is the cut list i created, the cut sheet should be as easy as taking the 31" peices out and then the sides out of the leg left behind from that . Would this be the wisest way to do it? how would anyone do it differently? Joe X
Here's what I have: The external width of the box would need to be 32.2" for the gross internal volume to be 4 cubic feet.

Markous
Thank you for that picture Joe, much appreciated! TA,the box i have in there now is built with it too. Between it and that 15 i bet it's around 200ish lbs. I put the sub in after i bolted it to the cab though. ckeeler11
Unless you have a bunch of 1" on hand I would just do 3/4" with bracing you will not have any issues.

It's available at a Rona hardware store 5 minutes from my place, they do my cutting for me there too. Pretty handy for an apartment dweller like myself.
