Ive done the dowel thing, on door hinge attachment places, when the wood has been hogged out to shit,... brilliant bro, well done. And man, i just get tickled when you show pics of your sides coming together with the clamps and shit. Did you say??? if your gonna stain/finish them some how? Cant wait to see finished, and you gotta post a vid of them inside, doing what they do mang. Well done dude.

They are going to get painted white and clear coated.

Here are some shots of the subs I'll be using,  Dayton RSS265HO-4s.

For the money I really like these subs, they have aluminum cones, cast baskets, and 600 watt RMS power handling.  They should work well for what I want to do with them.

I got out in the spray booth and started putting some shellac on the enclosures to seal up the MDF.5a959c33d639b_2018-02-2621_21_53.jpg.ef0ab856c4e617ddcabe465988c45a44.jpg

Here is one with a coat of shellac and one still bare:

I kinda dig the way the MDF and baltic birch look together with just some shellac on them.  I have to paint these white to keep my wife happy, but I may just go with the shellaced baltic birch and MDF on some future project.

Triticum, Awesome build!  To tune a PR... is it just guess and check?

Looking forward to see how you get it tuned to where you want it.

Nothing beats the look of natural wood imo.

I agree with one exception. Making your wife happy about having subs in your living room beats the look of natural wood :-)

WinISD can tell you how much weight you need to add to the PR to get the tuning you want. I plan on starting with what it says and then test and adjust from there.
