Rags2Bitches Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 I owned my first setup before I owned my first car. lol Bought my first setup off a coworker. 2 12" JL Audio W0s (02 or 03 models) RockFos Punch 500 amp prefabbed box 1 run of 8 gauge stock power Pioneer HU in a 95 New Yorker, came with the premium Infinity factory speakers, but the rear deck speakers didn't work (didn't know shit about it to check it out) and one of the front door speakers was blown. So I had one working mid in a door and two tweeters in the dash. lol The guy fucked me over and sold me on of the W0s blown. Bought my second setup separately. 2 12" Kicker CompVRs, 05 models Audiobahn 1300 amp prefabbed box 1 run of 4 GA same Pioneer HU blew 1 of the subs and sold the whole setup separately. Bought my 3rd setup for $40 from a dude in the slums. 2 15" Crunch's same Audiobahn amp prefabbed box newer Pioneer HU 1 run of 1/0 5 farad Power Accoustik cap yellow top under the hood The goddamn CONE ON THE SUBS FELL APART, LIKE SPLIT IN TWO, about 1 week after I hooked it up next setup was 2 15" Kicker CVRs 06 model SPL 1600.2 amp (a fuckin beast) undersized prefabbed box same Pioneer HU Infinity Reference 6 1/2s in the front doors Alpine Type R 6 1/2s coax in the rear doors 1 run of 1/0 ditched the cap cause I realized it was fuckin useless same yellowtop ran good, sold the setup to a buddy, then he gave it back as part of a trade for a shitty non-running Mitsu Eclipse, but the amp caught fire, so I bought a JL 1000/1. fried my alt in a week fried another alt 2 months later hooked up a 2nd yellowtop in rear and upgraded big 3. alt still was practically shutting off my headlights, but it didn't fry. sold vehicle and system together bought 3 10" Kicker CVTs in a prefabbed box traded the JL 1000/1 for a Kicker ZX1500.1 borrowed a buddies Alpine 9855 HU, gave it back when I bought a newer Pioneer HU upgraded big 3 stock batt 1 run of 1/0 used financial aid from school to buy my Excessive Amperage alt and 3 more CVTs and some Kicker DS6930s. Built the box in my avatar. 3 different size chambers. Sealed. the center and top subs I ran inverted. Bought the wrong ohm 10s, found a fucked up way to wire them, but it sounded like shit, so I went back down to 3. alt quit charging for some reason, sent back to Excessive. sold the car, gave the box to the guy that helped me build it. spl4life Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 i jus got into car audio recently, so i dont have a very long list...lol... im also on a budget...(tryn to pay for college) my first system was given to my from my parents. on my 18th birthday... which was about 2 years ago... sony head unit sony 4.5in pioneer 6x9s and an infinity bass link (that thing was good for sq...) generic 8ga (ripped from some home power wires.. lol) some 30amp fuse my second system has a funny story... same head unit same mid speakers one day my dad comes home with a kenwood 1800watt mono block amp (which is only 500w at 4ohms) and a 12in sony explod woofer in a prefab band-pass box. he got the amp from someone who blew thier L7, and he got the sony from a pawnshop... the funny part is he was trying to install them into his car... it took him 2 days... and assumed the amp and sub were broken... i took a look at it... and i said he wasnt doing it rite...(this was back then when i didnt knw much about audio either...) i told him.."lemme test it..." pluged it in... and it boomed... soo i used it from them... lol currently Pionner DEH-6000UB same mids jl 4ga wiring. rf rca's same amp (Kenwood KAC-9103D amp) took out the sony and built a JL H.O. box replica of the JL W6 H.O. Box and put the sony in...(hits pretty hard) My first truck... Right after I turned 16 and could actually drive the car legally I upgraded to this. Alpine tape deck, same Pioneer disc changer Alpine 5 1/4's in the doors and put the 4" Bose factory speakers back in the rear 3 Rockford Fosgate XLC 12's in a sealed 1.25 cuft per chamber box made out of 3/4" ABS type plasic(shit was heavy as hell and strong too) Subs were powered by a Rockford Fosgate 50.1 (the badass RF's that were grey with the gold endcaps) I was the absolute shit at this point until my third system kick it's ass. Rockford Fosgate 8140 deck Rockford Fosgate Fanatic X 6 1/2" comps in the doors Rockford Fosgate 75.2 amp for highs 4 Rockford Fosgate XLC 15's in a horizontal clamshell wall bitches (while I was still in highschool at 17!) A custom center council made by my dad that had my sony cd player (the first one sony ever built) with jensen 4x6's on the sides that when you cranked the cd player it would make the cd player skip! I had two 300watt jensen amps powering the 10's and I thought it was the shit!
