BlockShaker
I was just looking at the new issue of Car Audio and Electronics and they are having a giveaway. They are giving away a new Boston Acoustics' G3 subwoofer. I noticed that there were 2 fuses in between the speaker terminals. I've heard of fusing tweeters but never subwoofers. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? alpine
its prolly good.I think those are the ones were if it blows u can take out the voice coil and buy a new one and put it in there. LSN2meBoom916
Nope. It's so you WON'T have to do a VC swap. Fuse blows before the coil can. Makes it impossible to "overdrive" em w/ out a clipped signal and even then i think the heat would kill the fuse before the coil. The swappable voicecoils are on the SPG555 the oval shaped ones i think only and maybe the G5's but not sure on that one-i think its juts the oval sub tho. ChevyBoy
the correct answer is to swap parallel/series without having to do any wiring. you just take the 2 fuses out, put the one in the middle of the 4 holes, and bada bing bada boom. i heard about this, and when i went to sbn, the guy from jvc was explaining this to me. its pretty cool and saves a lot of wiring.
