kandiman71874 Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 LOL wow, I guess I look at 12's and 15's alot different than other people. My bro in law has two 15 inch fosgate T2's on a 1000bd and he can hit some low bass notes. I got a Diamond Audio 600.1 on 2 12 inch lightning audio VC2's and mine punches harder than his. Trust me when I say that there is a big difference in the way the bass sounds from a 12 to a 15. i'm gonna go out on a limb here and take a guess that one of these sets up is built closer to the actual desired specs of the sub and tuned corretly with the correct port area ratio to internal volume of the box compared to the other set up? Yer not getting the whole concept that it is all in the enclosure design that will make or break any system no matter what SIZE sub is used... My box was custom built for my subs and tuned at 33 HZ so yes you are right. His box could be bigger for his 15's. I am not trying to argue with anyone about the size of the subs, but I am speaking from my personal experiences. If a 12 and a 15 sounds exactly the same then why do they make the different sizes? creyc Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 My two 18s are WAY more punchy and hard hitting than my brothers two 10" Qs. This is contrary to what most people would think "oh use 10s for fast rock music and 15s for slow rap blah blah". Completely false. 15's will sound just as good as 12's, but they will be louder. 2001 Chevy Blazer (2) SAZ-3000Ds (2) custom 18" Madmax subs in a second row wall Rockford 600-4 Pioneer PRS components Pioneer P800PRS deck

Torres Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 for different applications of course. some want small subs in small spaces, some want to fill up their space with big subs. some want to fill bigger spaces with small subs. some want lots of bass while other want a little. with that theory...we'd all be driving cars. no trucks, vans, suv's. just cars of different companies. see what i'm gettin at?
