sorry to hear bout your health. My step mother has had copd for close to 15 years, quit smoking bout 7-8 years ago. but i guess smoking four packs a day can do that to you. Not sure how they will treat you beings you have one lung, but my suggestion is put off the oxygen for as long as you can, soon as my mother went on it, she has been deteriating fast, and i have seen other of my family members go downhill faster once put on oxygen from it. Make sure you have ac in the summer, because thats def their worst time of the year, little worse than the f'd up ohio winters.i live bout an hour and 10 mins north of c bus. where bouts down that way are you from man. I've seen so much of your work on here and its amazing, have been wanting to see some of it in person for a while now. Maybe we could meet up sometime, and you could give me some ideas on how to finish my blazer up, kinda want to puta wall behind the back seats cuz i can't see out the back window with the stupid spare on the back anyways. I just don't want the same shit as everyone else, and i love the lows. So i saw the specialist this morning... The danage i have is pretty bad, (compared me to a 75yr old smoker) and we wen threw all the options of what i can do to help myself and what options i may have in the future as the diseaes progresses.. Im in a calm place with it all, i mean hell after the first lung went i wasnt supposed to survive in the first place so im already ahead of the game is how im seeing it. I have 22days untill i go in for my first round of procedures with breathing treatments and what nots, and also got on the low-income health plan the city offers to help with some of the bills i will be piling up with this. That spiriva shits aint cheap! I have already looked in E-cigs and the patches to stop smoking cigs asap, but i know this is going to be the hardest thing ill have to go threw, and even tho i LOVE my cigs, i would like to make it past 50 just to prove the docs aint shiet!lol

Someone asked about knowing your gonna die from X thing..its not really even bothering me, since like i said ive lived 70% of my 31yrs in a hospital anyway, the shock factor is really non-exsistant anymore. I do know there are a few things i wnt to accomplish in my life why i have it so that what im gonna do, take one day at a time, get on the right meds, and try for the first time in my ife to look out for #1.

I do want to say to all those that know me, and those of you who really dont, that the support i get from SMD is killer! u guys all are good people and to think that i have this many that cared enough to read and post about My situation when yall have your own demons to deal with makes it alot easier to look at this problem in the eyes and try to whoooop itz ass! I luv all my interwebz Bros and want you guys to know that i wont be going out like no bitch, ive fought all my life for everything ive ever had and i will still fight!

Chantix!!!! It works wonders, as long as you don't have nightmares. Have seen 10+ people quit using it! I quit for 11 months took it for 3, started smoking again after getting divorced then a month later deploying. I don't know if insurance would cover it or not or how all that works. I was put on it for free, because the military helps a lot with stop smoking things. I know my uncle had to pay $150 for it out of pocket, so thats not bad at all if you quit. Something that helped me, was knowing that nicotine is only in your system for around 8 hrs, so after that its all mental, doesn't make it easier, but reinerates that your in control.

I think for most people, having only 1 lung is probably a better tool to quit smoking than any patch or gum. That's just me... you must really fucking hate yourself if you continue.
