Unless the smd's magnet was repalced with plutonium acid, the coils, cone, etc were all made of something other than wires, foam, rubber, etc then you can't say nothing is comparable to the smd. Technally every speaker is, because they run on the same basics of a magnet, coils cone etc.

Much in the same way the RF T15k and the Kicker Warhorse are just like every other amp? Of course basic principles are fundamental, but when you're attempting to compare awesome products from DC and AA you need to actually understand all of those basic principles in order to appreciate the leaps and bounds made by said woofers. Bold statement? Yes. But one that truly can't be proved or disproved simply by arguing about it.

My suggestion would be the SMD to the OP

Wow a lot of you guys are so passionate about a brand of speaker. I think what was lost in all of this was that the OP stated that he had somewhat of a budget and the he couldn't or didn't want to purchase subwoofers that were going to run over $1K per woofer. With that said I believe that the SMD shouldn't have been discussed from that point on. For me I give two shits about what brand does this does or who supergauss that. If I can afford it build a box for it and enjoy the sound coming out of it then I'll use it. From sparkomatic to critical mass, if I can find a way to buy it at an affordable rate, then I'll use it period. With all that crap said, to the OP, due the level 5's. They can take the power that you have and they're going to be within your price range. Or if you can get them at a great deal run the SMD. In the end its your cash so do with it you will. Just make sure you keep a lot of pictures in your build log.

I love how some people can become experts on something based off pictures or what they heard in someones ride. Aside from Nick who actually works with products and design, you all are talking out your ass.
