Yes, if you have a lot of heat while pushing the battery to its limits that can create swelling. With the heat you are producing it make actually be better for you to relocate the battery to the back of the vehicle if it is possible. You definitely want to use something to block all the heat from the battery if you do leave the battery under the hood.

fucking noobs. I blew a $1000 AA SMD 18" from clipping. I tuned my amps with a -10db tone just like Steve did (insert someone who said if Meade did it, anyone can do it lol) It bottomed out 3 times from the x-over not working 100% on my 3sixty.2 and the CC-1 let me tune that to the right way. I had it running off a dc audio 5.0k at .5 ohms but that doesnt affect it as i was clipping it hard. I burnt all 4 of my tinsel leads on my SMD and it started a tiny fire on the spider pack but it didnt spread. The coil is hard as hell to get black or burnt up but damn having the coil like yours do that takes some serious clipping. I just wrecked the tinsels, my coil is perfectly fine. I admitted to my mistake and got it corrected and am now running stronger than ever and the sub doesnt even get 1/4 close to how hot it was from me clipping it to all fucking hell. Learn how to tune your shit right and learn from your mistakes. Dont jump on the bandwagon and get high end shit that you will just trash. If you want to do that just send that stuff my way. Also last thing, if you think you can come on here and trash the admins and those who offer to help then you are a piece of shit. If you were nice and pulled that pipe out of your ass people including myself would help you do it right and not wreck your shit. Good day sir!!!

I use the dd-1 for newbs that have no control...unclipped isn't loud enough for me. :-) just got to know your system and back off like foxracing said..

I set my gains with the DD1 same tone you used, and im running 1500rms+ to a SUNDOWN SA10 DAILY But the differance is i know when to back off and let shit cool down..

whoa there tiny tim. Id settle down if I were you. There are actually 20 level6s that were made. You still set your gains wrong with a dd-1. A tool is only as good as its user and as you can see youre the phillips head screwdriver to a flat head screw. The reason it blew is simple. Go look in a mirror. The woofer and amp only do what you tell it to. If you wanted more and wanted louder I guess you didnt work that hard because you would have had two level6s on 10k. Shall I keep going. Oh one more thing. Your pseudo sales ad is gone too.

OP...ur wrong...they havent all been clipping, ive seen quite a few vids of ppl who've gained from using it...bigger names than urs...u only clipe if u set ur shit wrong...set it right the first time, no problems, when i manage to save up enough for a DD-1 i will more than likely use a 0 tone so i dont hafta worry about clipping, ur sitting here with ur blown ass sub and plenty of people are telling u what happened and ur saying its impossible...every sub will blow in time...u had it in a half-assed box (u said so urself) i can bet that even a little Old School Punch 150 would blow a DC lvl6 if given a shit box and clipped....clipping is clipping...power is pretty irrelevant, the only difference is time, it will blow, just takes time.

Got my subs a week ago and now have my box too! Big props to your box builder, it turned out really nice and solid. I test fit it in my trunk today and it fits perfectly like a glove! I'll take more pics when I load the subs and finally install it for good. Gotta deaden the trunk and layout the wires first. Thanks for your help Kevin, this was an awesome deal!
