Today, as i was testing my Crown XTR-4000 for this weeks Amp Test Tuesday, i blew an internal fuse pushing it to its limit So i ran to the store and grabbed the first amp i could find that looked decent. The Hifonics Brutus was the only amps on the shelf with CEA 2006 stamped on the side of the box. This was on sale for $299.99 so i bought it.
I tested it on the same 14v bank that i always use. I used the same 10a XS Power intellicharger (HF1415) that i always use, to keep the batts topped off in between runs. I tested @ 1ohm in all three modes and for a bonus, i dropped it down to .8 ohms for one dynamic burst RMS dyno run. The amp did not like .6 ohms. It went into protect.
So my next question is, who wants it? Guess the exact TOTAL of all FOUR numbers combined and it is yours.
Certified RMS @ 1ohm (test stops @ 1% distortion) - x,xxx watts
un-certified RMS @ 1 ohm (test stops @ clipping) - x,xxx watts
dynamic burst RMS @ 1 ohm (test stops @ clipping) - x,xxx watts
dynamic burst RMS @ .8 ohms (test stops @ clipping) - x,xxx watts
add all those ^^^ up, guess a number, win it! I will post the video tomorrow around 3pm pacific standard time.
