Well the time has come. Antheny (my son) is finally ready to upgrade his system in his ride. I know he has wanted it from day one but i am always busy and he was always in school during the day. So now that he is graduated high school (great grades BTW) we have more time to do stuff together. He has been helping out a TON at the shop so i decided to help him out with some gear. God dammit my name is Steve Meade who am i not to help my kid get some beat with the resources i have? Anyhow, nothing is free here, it cost me some $ but not too bad considering i am a dealer now. Anyway, we aren't going to go ape shit. We are aiming for a nice clean install with some bump. Over time, if the crazy bass bug hits him, he can upgrade all he wants. I think what we picked out will be a nice, well rounded first system for him...and for anyone if you ask me. Also, we plan on making the box look nice in the back. Nothing to wild. I want HIM to build this and we are going to start out with the basics. I had him open up the book and we are building from recommended specs for this first enclosure. We are going to use 4" Tube ports with a nice round over on them. Anyway, i LOVE showing him how to do stuff and then watching him get it done on his own. The tool is done and the very first unit rolled out of the mold yesterday. I will have a sample to play with next week !!! This one is currently patent pending (our 8, 10, 12, and 15 are already patented) -- ETA for full stock will be Jan-Feb of 2015. This frame is ~8.3" tall, supports 6" p-p excursion, and up to a 12" spider (also have 10" and 9.25" landings)... it weighs in at 10-11 lbs (I'll weigh it myself when it gets here). I will finally be comfortable making TEAM 18s at that point. The main bolt pattern is a new, bigger pattern for coils larger than 4" in diameter. For all current designs we have a cast aluminum adapter piece that attaches to the base for a standard 127mm bolt pattern. All current products will still use a 10" spider and current surround sizes -- future motors that support the additional throw allowed by the basket will move up to the 12" spider landing at that time and will also receive a newly tooled surround to mate up to that (no ETA to announce yet for that). Anyway... it's been a long time coming; enjoy the photos!

I always giggle when someone tries to critique Steve's work. Not saying you can't always learn something new (sure even Steve would admit that) but the average keyboard warrior on FB doesn't know enough car audio to lace up Steve's shoes.

Im more interested in the motor assembly that they will come up with that will be used with that 12inch spider and the 6inches peak to peak! The Team Sundown woofer looks monstrous and beastly in the photos and that wont even allow the basket/suspension to be used to its fullest so I could only imagine what is going to happen

if the motor/coil allows for full travel of a 12" spider...... fuck.... talking about stupid air movement.

We used 1" MDF for the box. We did a 1/4" recess. Now if these were SMD's, some Big ass DC's or something like that, of course we would double wall and all of that. But P3 12's aren't that heavy and there is still 3/4" of MDF under them. AND a brace. It is FINE. Had a few dip-wads on FB complain that the box looked "weak" but honestly, this box is solid as hell. You can never over do electrical. And what they say on the website is the bare minimum. I'd run the biggest possible alternator and 3 group 31 batteries and a group 34 plus 3 runs of 0 gauge.

I have went from alpine type s to infinity to jbl gto15 to mb quart to rockford and I can't wait until I move to DC. I plan on getting 2 DC level 3 18" if I can get them to fit. Going to shows and such, the dc cars always sound amazing. Good choice man!
