  1. Thoughts on the Fuse Holder I've been using? https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_36278_Xscorpion-ANL-Inline-Fuse-Holder-ANL1010P.html

I'm stocking up on some more and was wondering if there were better ones. These has been working better than those damn twisty water proof ones that keep breaking or get stripped when I over tighten.

You wont notice any difference, your talking maybe 0.001 difference in voltage if even that.

Get the Smd one just got my 4 fuse one yesterday

  2. I'm tempted to slap on my Second Skin Speaker Tweakers onto my sub box where the rear speakers are located but this would probably be a bad idea. SS Speaker Tweaker in my doors or on my sub box for the rear speakers in the trunk >< ?

I think so. There is something funky going on with my rear speakers. I'm guessing the sound waves are bouncing off the rear windshield and doing weird things.

      Could you describe it?

Hmm. Actually it sounds better now that I took off the rear deck plastic covering. It was muffled before but now it's not as bad. I'm going to sound deaden the entire rear deck and maybe screw down my speakers because right now it's just sitting on top of the baffle and the baffle has some air leaks through the stock 6x9.

  3. I've just made a purchase for the 30 sqft of Damp Pro. Another note I'd like to add... The link posted in the main thread is broken when visitors use the link: http://www.secondskininsulation.com/ To be specific, your URL doesn't change on my web browser; it only says: " www.secondskininsulation.com/ " on all of the different web pages that I click on. As a result, the website was not letting me check out to pay for my goods. This might be a problem for new visitors going onto the website in the future. The URL I had to use in order to check out my items was the following link: https://store.secondskinaudio.com/ It took me a while to realize that the link posted in this thread was not the official Second Skin Audio URL.
  4. Second Skin Damp Pro is like crack. I'm thinking about buying more with the sale they have going on right now.

  5. Does Damp Pro have an expiration date if I buy and don't use it for a long time? I"m thinking about stocking up on 30 square feet of Damp Pro.
  6. New CC-1 user here! The instruction states to set the volume at 0 and then gradually turn it up until the green signal light goes on. However, when I was doing it, I already had it somewhere under my max clean volume. I initialized the CC-1 and the green signal light would go on and I would just hit read and adjusted my HPF on the amp until the blue calibrated light goes on. Is it ok to do it this way? It won't set my frequency at some weird number? I'm assuming the instruction just says to have it at 0 so that users don't break their equipment by turning the CC-1 on and go into a giant clipped signal... Thanks in advanced!
  7. Anyone seen CJ18? He built my box for my XLM2's years ago and I was wondering if he still did box building in case I need to upgrade my subs again

Thats an old page, started as a joke when I was told I couldnt do it years ago. Finally made a legit page after becoming legit and doing it full-time now.
Got somethings planned but gotta get a few other things in check prior. Wont say my ideas because I know how those biters are out there :D
      New page. https://www.facebook.com/AudiofanaticzLLC/

  8. SMD DD-1+ and CC-1: confirmed my max volume on H/U, set my gains on sub DC5K amp, set my SSF, LPF all in under 15 minutes before going to work. Good product!

Still gotta do my 4 channel amp this weekend and maybe record it on video for fun.

I'll probably redo my SSF on the DC5K. My box is tuned to 35Hz and I have the SSF set to 31Hz but am thinking about lowering it to 28Hz.

Need to do more research on how low below box tuning I can go.

Overall, the SMD DD-1+ and CC-1 is nice to have if you're into car audio. I hope we can get an affordable SMD SPL Meter in the future. The ones people using now are like $1,000 :(

    1. audiofanaticz

      audiofanaticz

Usually you dont want to play any lower than 1/2 octave below tuning.

So if your tuned at 35hz, 1 octave lower would be 17.5hz so that would make a 1/2 octave at 26.25hz.

Typically 5-10hz below tuning, but it will vary depending on power, enclosure size, the size of the port, etc.

Love my DD-1+ and CC-1.  I am constantly changing around settings on my 4 channels for fun to change the sound slightly depending.  Love making adjustments to my sub amps using different overlaps dialed in by 0.1 at a time.  =)

I think you would be safe going to 28 Infrasonic

Thanks for the input guys! I'm trying to see if I can get the best out of my XLM2's before I change my subs later this year. Came across an interesting video here:

P.S. This is not a vs post.

  9. I'm just curious because I have to buy more Damp Pro in the near future but will there be an increase in price this year for Damp Pro (both b-stock and regular)?
  10. Handheld SMD SPL Meter when?

  11. Which forum are all of the Digital Designs builds at? Everyone seems to be using DC Audio, Sundown, and FI on most of the forums I'm browsing.

a kid I grew up with had 4 c7's on a ddm4 ( I gotta check again on the amp) but he got loud. I know he cracked a 50

  12. I just realized I had the SSF on my amp turned the wrong way when i was tuning it lol. This explains why my bass output was so low. Time to go redo it and this time I'll have it turned all the way to the higher number and work my way down as I follow this guide:

i just hook up a DMM to the amp, play a tone where i want my SSF/ISF at and turn it till i start to see a voltage change then bring it just a teeny bit back. same works for LPF.

I'm going out in the garage now to double check and do attempt #2 with setting the gains and SSF. I probably did have the SSF turned the wrong way yesterday. I want it all the way to 10Hz when I'm tuning not 40 Hz.

Gonna go redo everytihng and will post up a vid later. I'll probably still get the DD-1+ and CC-1 just to have it in my collection of crap that I own ~_~. I have a clamp meter collecting dust in my closet.

alright I just finished retuning attempt #2 my subs. Made a thread here:

Can't decide where it starts clipping on my oscope. I will definitely make a video comparison once I purchase the DD-1+ and CC-1. Oscopes are confusing as hell and I have an Associates of Science in Electrical Engineering ~_~

  13. Oh sweet! I just found this coupon page. The $15.00 off pretty much covers my $15 shipping lol. Gonna make my purchases now
  14. Here's another video trying to set the gains with the velleman oscope can't really tell where it starts clipping
  15. I wasted 4 hours of my time trying to retune my entire system in the car to find out that my Velleman oscope is probably broken... Why I think it's broken? My damn subs got less loud when it's suppose to be louder since I went from my original 0dB tune to a -2.5dB tune. As a result, I'd like to buy a DD-1 or DD-1+??? Which one is better? I also need something to set my sub sonic filter... does the CC-1 do this or does that only set the LPF, HPF? I missed the Black Friday deals and was wondering if I can still get those deals for being a loyal SMD forum member since April 22, 2007? ~_~. Here's my attempt of setting the gains on my velleman oscope.. I can't even tell if it's clipping off... And why is the voltage reading so different compared to my Craftsman voltmeter? Which one is accurate??? I have my Singer Volt meter calibrated to my craftsman dmm reading... Youtube vid of me trying to set gains on the scope
  16. My box is tuned to 35Hz, so does 30 Hz for my sub sonic filter sound about right to play it safe? I'm going to retune my system from 0dB to -2.5dB for louder bass.

  17. I'm scared to play Bass I love You on my DC XLM2's ~_~

      @MrSkippyJ

      I took a picture here:

      DC_Audio_XLM2_Loose_Tinsel_Lead-1.jpg

As you can see, it still has one stitching holding it down.

I added felt pads to it recently:

      felt_pads_for_tinsel_slap-2.jpg

Here's a youtube recording of that sub with the unstitched Tinsel. It's weird because only this Tinsel had issues and the other sub showed no signs of Tinsel slap. Who knows how long before this sub goes bad. I'm in the process of saving money for new subs later this year so I need to save every penny where I can of everything I spend money on. They cut my overtime at work so money in flow is gonna suck for Blue collared people like me :(

  18. Lost one of my drones today... we were in a hurry to test it out and never got the HD camera to work. It flew in someone's backyard :(. Next time it would be a good idea to write phone # on it and make sure camera works so you know where it crashed

That sucks. If you see kind of where it fell you could knock on those neighbors doors and ask if it's in their yard.

  19. Adding battery #3 as we speak! Will add pics soon. Only problem is it's 2 xs power and 1 yellow top mix matching ~_~ the age of the batteries are similiar though.

    1. audiofanaticz

      audiofanaticz

mixing the different brands does not matter as long as they are all the same type of battery, which they are all AGM

  20. oh Hmm. I don't buy that many batteries so I had high expectations of everything being perfect out of the box =_= It was a good thing they double boxed the battery because the outside box looked beat up: then inside was another box and a lot of foam:
  21. I remember back in 2012 when I bought my brand new XS D2400, it measured 12.3V out of the box. I was pissed. They could have at least charged them before sending them to me (bought from audiosavings ). My XP3000 came out of the box at 12.7V
