My DD1 Fixed 4 Things For My Mazda
Colin - STAPUFT replied to dereileak's topic in SMD Distortion Detector (DD-1) Topics
Good review and nice little write up. That alt whine can drive you CRAZY! Glad your toy got it all fixed up. On a side note with your Pioneer HU: have you tried grounding your RCA shielding at the back of your HU? Probably no need now that the DD-1 has you squared away, I just know it has helped lots of people in the past with Pioneer HU issues. -
I know it is a web page link- so if you have issues, don't click on it.... But it is pretty funny.

I still have mine too! lol Had mine pulled over 6 years ago. Took just a few minutes- they squeaked when they came out. hehehe I was going to go to work right afterwards but the wife talked me into the whole "wait and see" thing. ...yeah, really good call on her part. The next few days were pretty blurry and floaty. I wasn't going anywhere. -
Just tuneed my amps with DD-1
Colin - STAPUFT replied to Miguels's topic in SMD Distortion Detector (DD-1) Topics
i dont use the bass knob on my amps, and lowered everything on my amp. do you think the epicenter can be the problem? the epicenter knob was all the way down but the little gain buttons are up edit: i was also running that amp daily with bad cliping for months and was getting bad smell from subs thats why i'm upgrading my audio and just waiting on subs to get built Use the DD-1 on the Head unit Only. Set you HU where you get the "most" out of it. Then use the DD-1 after the Epicenter. Set the epicenter where you get the most out of it before clipping / distortion. Then set your amp. Done. If it is for crap after the Epicenter, then there is your issue. You very well could be over powering the RCA input on your amp from your Epicenter. -
Freakin' Chevy LUV! I've always loved these trucks! Not second guessing you or trying to change your mind, but I second SNOWDRIFTER. Once upon a time I had 2 12"s in my fullsize 74' Chevy Truck. I did it just because I had to have 2 12s. I would have been much better off going with smaller subs in an appropriately sized box. I once heard 2 8s in a Ranger that would blow your head off. Still- tuned in! I wanna' know how you are gonna' fit that in there!

I HATE that song!!!!

I LOVE IT!!! That horn is WICKED!!! I would straight hook up that horn under the truck with a switchable on/off for the amp. Have an Ipod or MP3 hook-up and play stupid stuff at random. Fart noises and hot rod engine sounds!! This is fun to watch! I'm sure you are going to get more serious with it at it goes- but I love the RAW of it all. I find myself getting tired of sterile uber slick and clean installs every now and then.
