  1. Do they are 1 ohm stable when strapped ? They may accept only 2 ohms. So, what kind of subs do you have ?
  2. The subsonic (or infrasonic) filter should be set at a frequency under the tuning of your enclosure, like 4 hz below for example. If you don't know the ttuning frequency of your box, try to set the ssf around 30 hz, and the LPF at around 80-100 Hz.
  3. The RF are serious amps ! Take a look at Sundown if you want big power, or Stetsom. Can't be disappointed with them.
  4. Good news ! Someone in Martinique is waiting for his 4th saz 1000 to finish his install !!! He should be happy to hear this news ! I call him NOW !
  5. You must have made a mistake by getting a Nightshade. It's a pure spl beast sub. Not what you seem to want. Maybe you should look for a Z v1 ?
  6. Hum, hum !? I don't think so ! The saz 1500 is a real beast. The sae is the entry line, they can't be strapped. And the saz is the competition line, the amps are strappable.
  7. Audiopipe 3000 ? Lot of people seem to like it. (for its low price?)
  8. Your new website is awesome. Congrats ! I tried to subscribe to your mag the month you stopped printing it ! I was so sad !!! I liked to see the different celebrities car you were showing,; they're still on the site, but no updates, no new ones !
  9. Get the 12's and make the box with the biggest recommanded size per woofer. Take a look at the Sundown Z v2 : it's a beast of a sub. Cheaper than the Nightshades, but better with that kind of power. They don't need huge boxes to be loud.
  10. Get a cheaper amp (used ?, Audiopipe?, ...), and a better sub Always put more money on speakers.
  11. Give us a budget. Why do you want one of those only ? There are so much subs in the market. I would try a Sundown sa12, or an SSA Icon (more on the sq side).
  12. Dvc 2 ohm OK You can use this rockford for your sub. Look at the Sundown saz 2000 too. There is a good deal(a pre sale) on the saz 2500. How much do you want to spend? there are cheaper and more expensive amps on the market. With 2000 watts, or even 1500, you can really enjoy a btl. You don't need tons of power.
  13. If your btl is a dual 1 ohm, you should look for an amp that puts its power at 2 ohms. This RF amp is not the best choice for a DVC1 sub. Take a look at : Audiopipe 3000.1 2 Sundown saz 1000 or 1500 strapped Kicker 2500 Alpine mrp something 2000 And many more !
  14. Try to Google : "ground noise on Pioneer" , "pico fuse problem". there are several topics about it. My pr 88 rs had the same problem ! The easiest/cheapest way is to ground each rca : just use a small speaker wire that you put around the rca (without touching the inner part) and you ground this wire where you can. This solution will help you, but you will still hear noise, with A/C on for example. You can send your hu to Pioneer for a repair. I took mine to an electronic shop, locally, and they knew what to do : change the blowned pico fuse, or bypass it with a small wire. I have no problem, no noise at all for now !!! But I will always remember to turn the h u off And/Or to take the fuse out BEFORE I touch anything on the amplifiers (rca, speaker wires,...). Good luck
  15. congrats ! That's a fantastic prize! It' a beast of an amp. I did not have to upgrade my electrical system to use it. Just one run of 0 ga from front battery to a fused(150amp) distr. block, 0ga to ground the battery and the engine block. Stock battery, stock alt and THAT'S IT !!! Enjoy
  16. Don't know if you batteries are well charged. If your alt is not so powerful, try to use only one battery. 2 batts are probably too much for your car ? I am not an electrical expert at all. But if your alternator is weak, a second batt will never help you.
  17. Look at these :http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/12%22-SSA-DCON-12D4%7B47%7DS4.html You can have 2 of them and look for a used amp on this forum : With a 600 watts rms amp your friend will be fine. I'm sure you can find a good 500-600 watts rms amp for $100. He can also run only one sub : why not a 15" ? The one sub-solution would be the cheapest way to start a good system. for example :http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/12%22-SSA-ICON-12D1%7B47%7DD2.html with any amp, until he can have a good one ! These 2 subs are not spl subs but they sound sooooo good ! There are dozens of subs in the market, so, good luck !
  18. Yeah, I like them by 2 !!! Are you sure you have room for a box with 2 big woofers in a 'stang ? Even without rearseats ? We're talking about an 8 cu ft box (gross).
  19. All I ever heared about the AQ subs is that "they can take a shitload of power" !!! I don't know if they sound good, but they must be loud !!! You want to go big ? Get a Fi BTL or a DC level 4 or 5. Remember, you don't need 2 subs to be loud ! One in a HUGE ported box well tuned and you can slam harder than a lot of people ! But it's up to you.
  20. Look at the ssa shop or ask Jacob @ sundown audio. The sae 1200 is a beast, but he may only need the saz 1000 (I don't remember the prices). The ssd is a good choice too ! BTW take a look at the Sundown subs : sa's and Z series, they're cheap AND goooood !!! You can love them more than the ssd.
  21. Why do you need 2 HDC3's ? Take a look at the Sundown sa 12. 2 of these on just a AQ 1200D amp will be very loud in a proper ported box. You just need the big 3. An extra batt will not be necessary. There are too much subs in the market to get these AQ subs. Take your time. DC audio, Fi, Sundown, ...and many more.
  22. The gti is a great woofer. It goes really looooow but is not the loudest woofer in the world !!! the SSA Icon is much better than the gti. No doubt. I don't know about the Orion, I thought it was more an spl sub. You can take a look at the Fi Q : same category as the Icon and the GTI. The SSA Xcon will do what you want, but is a lot more powerful (and it is more expensive). You can have whatever woofer you want, you MUST use a proper box : it's really box dependant. Be sure to use a good custom box, check the dimensions you can afford in your trunk in order to choose the right (size) sub. Good luck
  23. Congratulations ! IT' really a nice looking subwoofer. I love it ! What will you use for it ? amp, box, car ???
  24. The first thing to do is to try to learn the basics of car audio. Take some time to read all what you can here. And come back with more informations so that the members can help you easily. Budget, roow available for the box in the trunk, needs(hu?, speakers?,...), and more !!! Good luck
