usually your amp should be fine if its not hot enough to cook a egg. The hottest amp i felt was derricks stetsom 7k and i could cook burgers on that thing lol.

We need to know what amp also. Most likely you are running to small of a wire for the amp. Causing it to get really hot and melt the wire.

So hows the voltage drop with only 3 batteries?

The Samsung will power that thing fine. I used to use it until me and my bro swapped receivers. That design will be pretty good for them. Since your giving them more port area, the old box didnt have enough port area.

yea i believe that was the older model btl's used in 06, new models came in play in 08. Not 100% sure though.

I don't know for sure, because we don't know what kind of woofer it is. If you take the woofer out, look for manufacture model number so we could look it up.

Might just have to build a small ported enclosures tuned to like 42hz it will give it more low end, that the most likely 50+hz tuning.
