They are closer to 3 inches then 2.5 inches, so they are called a 3inch coil... A 3 inch coil is never 3 inches tho, it could be from 2.8 all the way up to 3.25 inches depending on sub, but still are considered 3 inch. Dont get me wrong, the motor looks BEAST as hell, but like i said, the gap is so damn tight that they use a cheap 2 layer coil. I tried a few different coils I had laying around and non even came close to being small enough to fit.

Why would you put teflon tape on a bolt??? Teflon tape is used to seal air and water lines. LOL Just buy something made for bolts like that stuff called Loctite

its considered a 3inch, but smaller then a 3inch IMO they are not worth reconing unless you take apart the motor, and machine the top plate out to fit a larger coil. The gap in them is extremely tight. The stock coil is a 2layer aluminum flatwound, and dont take anything close to their rated rms power. They are built really chincy.

You get the biggest size you can buy, as long as the bolts still fit through the speaker mounting holes on the basket. So best bet is to goto the hardware store, grab a single bolt of a few sizes, go home and check which bolt fits the holes best, then once you made your choice go back and buy all the bolts needed to mount the speakers and the correct size tnuts

A good AGM battery should be in the voltage range of 12.6 to 13.1 volts when fully charged. So Im sure your batteries are fully charged. If you had a bad cell your battery would be in the low to high 10s (10.0-10.9volts ruffly). Each cell on most AGM batteries are 2.0-2.3 volts each depending on how you maintain the battery.

Power Bass does not offer recones to the best of my knowledge. I have a buddy running 6 of their 15s and wanted to change to different impedance coils, and was told he would have to buy new speakers when he emailed them. lol So your best bet is to hit up a company like FixMySpeaker.com

Just make sure you have the wired attachments that are not in the picture. kinda ol school and bulky not something that can be easily mobile always trying to find a outlet to plug it in. NO, because if you tried playing a 28hz track for example, and turned your subsonic filter to where the 28hz is no longer heard or have your woofers moving, your subsonic filter would be set in the mid to high 30s due to the 12-24db octave depending on amp,(sundown, crescendo, american bass, dc, dd, etc) have a 24db octave.

I'm with you. Everyone is stating they want one, but what exactly does it do? I have an idea, but I'm still not 100%. It is to set your crossovers on your amplifier(s). Since the potentiometer used on the amplifiers for the crossover only give you an estimate of the frequency your setting your crossover at, this will allow you to set the crossover exactly instead of just turning it until you see 60hz, 80hz, 100hz, 120hz, or somewhere in between. edit: Meaning, if you want your subsonic filter to filter out everything 28hz and below, but the dial only goes from 10hz-50hz you would normally have to guess where 28hz is, and you are almost never correct (even if there would be a number 28 on your amplifier, the printing could be off enough to make a good difference).

Yes.. The newer hcca woofers are built as cheap as possible plan and simple. The pro to them is the 4 inch coil, and simple to recone with no gluing needed. The cons to the hcca is the 4inch coil is very generic, it dont handle power no where near as good as other 4 inch coiled woofers on the market, nor higher end 3 inch coil woofers like dd9500, dc lvl5, sundown nightshade v2, fi btl, aa mayhem etc. They also have a problem with a heatsink letting go on the pole piece, when this happens it usually breaks the dustcap clean off, and sometimes mangles the coil and needing a new recone. With out the heatsink they cant even handle their rated power. Its a beast of a woofer, but for how they are built not all and all that great, when they could of made a few slight changes and had a badass woofer. The DD woofers can get very loud, and handle a shit ton of power doing so, more then the hcca's.
