Two BC2000s are $680 as opposed to $900 for the BC5500, could be why. OP, my Lv5 18 that I have left laughs at the BC2000, so I'd do XLs.

4 on 4 XL18s would probably work nicely. 8 on 4 Lv5 18s would be killer though!

BUT there is also cabin gain, rise, voltage drop, & other things that can change results. try the build & test, build & test, & build & test method. even tho building more boxes might be a pita its still cheaper than buying more equipment. Ooo wow I'm confused, is there a tried and true method to find out the F3 of your enclosure while it's in a vehicle?

Download WinISD, enter the T/S specs for the XL18, and your enclosure size & tuning. It should graph the response, as well as an F3 point.

My two DC Lv5 18s took up .52cubes together, and those were some huge motherfockers lol. I don't see a single woofer taking up that much space...
