Running at .5 is dangerous for your amp, so I would recommend not doing that lol. But the less resistance you have, the more power you get out of the amp. But the more power that it puts out, the more heat it creates... Too much heat = fried amp internals. That's why you see amp ratings like this 1600 watt amp 4 ohm - 800 watts 2 ohm - 1200 watts 1 ohm - 1600 watts

Same amount of power on 2 ohms.... It is less strain on your electrical setup. And not all amps are 1 ohm stable, so if you run them at 1 ohm, they have a tendency to get hot, and increases the chances of making some magic smoke. I on the other hand don't give a fuck and I run mine at .5 ohm. Bitches love .5 ohms

Yea, should be checked with the car on at the charging voltage. Settings will be off if you set them at 12 volts rather than 14.6
