It's likely that the mechmna has a smaller pulley and would require a smaller belt even though it may not seem like it needs one. Check for black dust around the pulley and front of the case.

What got me hooked was my brothers friends always had systems the first one I heard was a couple earthquake 12's in a box with the horns and mids next to them. The one that really set it off though was four Rockford 12's in a isobaric 4th order custom built for the back of a 1990 Ford escort. Shit was brutal for back in the day, made the tape deck skip. First car audio sub I owned was an orion cobalt 10" in the orion bandpass enclosure, Shit got down for one 10"

I look at the bigger picture too though, sure it might do a decent number for the price even though they lied about it but what kind of quality is it. To me if they would lie that much about the numbers I'd have to guess that they have no problem selling low quality products too. There are plenty of amps out their that probably make what they claim or close too it that are pieces of junk as well. Or how about them ones that make rated but have a nice fuzzy line on a o-scope.

Not trying to say it's your fault but most people would stop playing them and contact the company for warranty issues at the first sight of the problem instead of continuing to play them.

Did you by chance spray any kind of cleaner on it? The surround looks dry and brittle.

Nothing is wrong, you're thinking too much into it. If you can hold over 14 volts with the stereo on the alt is working just fine.

One thing I can see right away that I would like is subsonic only has two settings 16 or 32. A lot of the description is very gimmicky but I guess that's on part with a lot of companies really.

But you can double it and get the 1200 for only $200 more.

Mechanical fans don't actually rob much power and are usually much better at keeping a car cool than retrofitted electric fans.

I'd love to get out and have some fun at the dunes but I'm in the too broke for that club.
