bre2ts Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Wouldnt you want the fuse as close to front batter? Since that's where the power will becoming from the way that diagram is set up you have it so all the wire from the front battery is unprotected Feedback 1 | Feedback 2 you win some, you lose some

Your right my bad. The first time inlooked at it I thought for some reason it was part of battery. But having the two sets of fuses between the front and rear batts still seems redundant. Not really, if you only run 2 you might as well not run any. If the middle grounds out and the fronts pop the line will still be getting power from the rear batt and continue to melt down. S15_Silvia Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 fellow 4runner owner!!! lil diagram i have for these situations little black rectangles are fuses. within 18 inches of each battery is what i've read/seen around here. Awesome diagram...actually answered a grounding question I had, so I didn't have to make a scrub thread 2016 Subaru BRZ | Sony XAV-AX100 | Rockford Fosgate DSM 4080 & DSM 40ix | On 6/6/2012 at 6:32 PM, 'LZTYBRN' said: 3. Kobieblu Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Is it better to ground amp to second bat or chassie RF love
S15_Silvia Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 That's the question I had- why not do both? Ground the amp to the battery, and battery to the chassis. 2016 Subaru BRZ | Sony XAV-AX100 | Rockford Fosgate DSM 4080 & DSM 40ix | On 6/6/2012 at 6:32 PM, 'LZTYBRN' said: 3. Gotloud555 Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 You can also ground the amp to the chassis. Having more fuses mean you putting more resistance on voltage drop, but that o.k since it there to protect the wire. I have seen peoples that don't have fuses to the front to rear battery but it good to have a fuse for protection.
sprkn_ranger Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Is it better to ground amp to second bat or chassie Remember, the absolute best ground you will ever get is directly to the negative terminal on the battery.
