I had a STP filter before this one and I noticed a few drops of oil around the filter and on the metal around the filter. Sure enough the gasket had separated and made a weak spot in the seal. I won't ever have another STP filter. I prefer to use Bosch or AC Delco filters but the store didn't have it and I didn't want to go to Walmart. I have been wondering if there was anything better than the hyped up Fram. What do you like for filters?

Napa brand is better than Fram IMO look at this and watch the video below. Fram has leaked on me in the past before I wised up.

My car has the right to kick me square in the nuts... Never really paid attention to what filter I used (I grabbed Fram). For sure going with napa gold next oil change.

Go with K&N

^that's what I use, have yet to have a problem with my K&N oil filters.

So today I changed my oil. Lucky I didn't have a Fram oil filter. I had a Purolator, which was the same filter I got this oil change. The one I got this time was Purolator gold or something. Anyways cut the old one open and cut a Fram oil filter that my Dad had in his diesel 2500. All I had to say was damn. The ratio of the old one in my car to that fram was like 1.75:1 Even though the fram was twice the height, it was still a huge difference. My Dad was one who thought fram was a decent filter. He was shocked.
