Just curious why anyone wants to see their db's if not competing?

Its not an actual DB meter like what you're thinking. You can sync those up with a dd1 its a visual aid see if you're clipping or not. Super handy.

since I couldn't see Wishuponasub's pic (damn navy interwebz and "must use internet explorer"), I'm assuming omnibus is referring to the OM1. the OM1 doesn't give you real-time overall decibel measurement. it gives you "you set your shit at this level on a tone and this is how many extra decibel's above THAT as to what you're actually getting input in to your amp" which can be good if it's at or below 0dB, or bad if it's above.

Yep. The above answers hit the nail on the head. I just wanna watch for clipping so as to not destroy my stuff. I am a total noob and I believe this meter may save my ass one day lol.

I bought a crap load of stuff to organize my random car audio tools in the garage.

I bought this $80 fold-able wooden table at home depot:

I bought a Dremel for cutting the hole in my 6.5 abs pods from eBay:

My 6.5 abs eBay speaker pods (I'm probably going to figure out if my Dremel can cut that piece of wood so I can attach it down onto it and attach the whole piece to my door). Thoughts guys? Can a Dremel trim that piece of wood into the shape of my door pod or am I better off buying a different tool for that?
