S15_Silvia
Over the summer I made the MISTAKE of buying a Bose/Onkyo combo 2.1 system. It has a pretty nice Onkyo CD receiver, paired with the Bose Acoustimass 3 Series IV speaker set. I got a really good deal it seemed- but boy have I been disappointed with this setup. I use it in my dorm, connected to my TV for shows and games, and have my laptop hooked up for bumping music. I shouldn't say 'bumping,' because the Bose sub puts out some of the weakest bass I've heard from a 2.1 system. The tiny cubes are assigned the job of reproducing mids and highs, which really is impossible from a single 3"(?) driver. My roommate's Klipsch Promedia 2.1 completely blows this setup out of the water. Bose = Buy other sound equipment. This stuff is all going on Craigslist, and I'm gonna see about buying some Polk bookshelfs and a Klipsch sub to hook up to the Onkyo. COOL STORY, I know. 2016 Subaru BRZ | Sony XAV-AX100 | Rockford Fosgate DSM 4080 & DSM 40ix | On 6/6/2012 at 6:32 PM, 'LZTYBRN' said: 3. Omega5002
When I hear Bose, whether speakers or headphones, the audiophile inside of me vomits. The Polk audio bookshelfs, and Klipsch sub combo will do very nicely actually. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)

SmallTruk
I made the same mistake once. The good thing about Bose: they're easy to sell. You'd be surprised how many people think they're awesome products

ChevyBoy95
Lepai LP2020A+ with a pair of Dayton B652 book shelfs. Was 65 in total and sounds great, and gets loud. Missing 50hz and below but has a bunch of clarity IMO.
