Second run of 1/0 for ground?

Recommended Posts

Alright, I'm about to throw one of my d3100s in the back of my Tahoe, I have one run of 1/0 right now for positive, is it worth it to add a second run for ground? Or should I just leave the frame ground? Or maybe both? Lol I already have the 1/0 and the D3100 waiting to be installed

Run of ground is very good idea alot better than using bits of metal throughout the car some only touching with spot welds to get the ground back up front

i actually saw a huge difference in voltage drop when i changed one of my positive runs to a negative run

when driving full tilt i never went below 13.6, when before it was common to see high 12s

I've seen it go both ways, I've seen many people gain with adding a ground run, and I have seen many people not see a difference with it (such as myself)

I just ended up keeping it though, figured it wasn't hurting anything leaving it in, plus I was too lazy to un-run it

I only have one running from the front battery to the rear bank and then the front battery is grounded to the fender. All my back batteries are ground to each other and then separately under the truck to the frame. My voltage now stays mid 13's all day with the 4 Kinetik 2400 in the rear.Like N8 said you can never have too many.

x2

have the big 3 done , and just like bre2ts said, a complete circuit can help and also make your mind at ease, so you wont be questioning yourself if you should or not.

Big three is all done, I have dual alts also with a single 300 amp Iraggi alt (soon to be replaced) running the system witch is only one RF T2500BDCP at the moment

Will have one D3400 and 1 D3100, then the 2 runs of 1/0

Voltage should be pretty steady :drinks:
