n8ball2013
They are not recommended for sealed boxes. Its kinda like buying a corvette and only driving it down the block once a week. just a waste of a beautiful machine. ChevyBoy95
yea, total waste if you go sealed, i would just get 1 and port it, will probably be louder, and do it justice. I can't imagine any sub with 3k sounding good in sealed dont wanna save space, just don't want to give up MORE space. a 4th is sealed, you've never heard one sound good? That's not entirely true. A 4th is both sealed AND ported. The sealed section helps provide the lower end response, and depending on where you tune the ported section will determine the upper end response. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong What are the current specs of your ported box just out of curiosity? I get the feeling that you don't think your current box is living up to its full potential? SnowDrifter
Just do ported. If it's an issue with space: do smaller subs. If you think sealed=sq, you are mistaken. If you don't know how to design it: there are many people here who want to help. If you want to try sealed to experiment: ehh, you will learn something. SnowDrifter
3K per sub on a 4 inch coil with cooling isn't really that much. As long as he isn't clipping - the only 'snag' I can see is mechanical control with the sealed box. A little over 13cubes net, tuned to 31hz. Could be bigger but ehh I kinda need those seats there. It was basically just a random idea, SQ wasn't even a thought.
