kingleo Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 well inverting the polarity is just reversing your amp inputs. i may be wrong so don't do this before you get more feedback. lol Just swap the wires at the amp. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/77708-2002-millenia-system-re-build/page__view__findpost__p__1070977__hl__%2Bmazda+%2Bmillenia__fromsearch__1 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110130-2000-acura-integra-gs-4-door/page__view__findpost__p__1536749__hl__%2Bmazda+%2Bmillenia__fromsearch__1
kingleo Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 It looks cool to see the motors, just use good looking wire. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/77708-2002-millenia-system-re-build/page__view__findpost__p__1070977__hl__%2Bmazda+%2Bmillenia__fromsearch__1 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110130-2000-acura-integra-gs-4-door/page__view__findpost__p__1536749__hl__%2Bmazda+%2Bmillenia__fromsearch__1
SGTSKIP Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Ive had my CVR's inverted cause they look great like that. I have not noticed any difference in SPL or sound. I just cleaned up the wiring and ran them into the box through 2 of the screw holes and I put some silicone on it to stop any leakage.... its ported anyway.... looks sweet in my opinion Does this smell funny to you? Its your sister
Kyblack76 Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Depending on how your gonna mount them,..remove baffle and mount em reinstall baffle, or take out the subs and plop em on top, I have read on a swap to inverted on a enclosure, where after it was done, as the woofer would "throw" the surrounds would hit the enclosure at the cut out, and buggered up the surrounds. Maybe keep an eye on that....if your able (dunno if you can with your box) take both drivers out, invert one, and cycle the suspension, and see if your surrounds make any contact...also, post some vids eh??.. Good luck. SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold
mrd6 Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 One thing to consider in this which no one has mentioned yet is that you might want to reverse the phase 180 degrees if you are blending the upper frequency limits of the subs with the lower limits of your mids (i.e. subs lowpassed at 60hz and mids highpassed at 50hz). There could be some cancelation in that frequency range if the phase is not reversed. Reversing phase is super easy though, if your amp or head unit doesnt have the option, just reverse the speaker leads at the amp. Now show off those motors! RooTxBeeR Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Yup everything was covered in this one!!! And to what KyLar said, that is probably the most important thing when inverting subs. If you don't make sure the surrounds will cover it you could very well tear apart your surrounds without a problem. RickyFriery97 Posted April 20, 2012 Author Report Posted April 20, 2012 Well seems like you guys talked me into it! Heres a teaser... Also I've made 100% sure the surrounds aren't gunna be rubbing Do I have to reverse the phase? Or can I just mount em wire em down to 1 ohm and slam as if they were mounted regularly? 2014 Chevy Silverado Crewcab 1994 Chevy Full Size blazer

I had some CVR's and they looked good like that
corey0928 Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 You don't need to reverse the polarity if both are inverted
MrSkippyJ Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 You don't have too. But your subs will be out of phase with the rest of your system and it might be noticeable.
