I will say that there are some script kiddies but if you know anything about hacking you will know that there are more way than one to take down a node. Some doesn't even involve using a computer. Most of the hackers these days are script kiddies but there are still quite a few out there that are understand exploits, how they work and write their own scripts to exploit them. Understanding buffer overflows, memory leak exploits etc. The tools that are at hand today does make things a lot easier and some of the packaged up for you to download and start running commands. You are going to have people on both sides on the fence when it comes to hacking. Some good some bad but I am for one of pushing the envelope. If you think hackers are not needed then you are on another planet.
