Herokight Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 The main thing the Republicans have talked about, from what I've heard (correct me if I'm wrong), is doing that for concealed carry but not when purchasing because it would infringe on rights. That'd be a little hard to keep up with though, as concealed carry is different from state to state and seems like one policy would be very hard to come up with unless they had a general federal concealed carry permit. For instance, in GA you can have a gun in your house, on your property, or in the glove box or console of your vehicle without one. To carry them in public you have to have a permit, which is just a general WCP (weapons carry permit) here. Without it you can only carry a knife with a blade no longer than 5 inches in public, which I take full advantage of. Other states are completely different in the protocol for weapon permits.
