Purplehaze Posted June 22, 2013 Author Report Posted June 22, 2013 You could cut the top for a plexi window and have kicken cruiser etched on the plexi ( or sticker) and light it up. I think it would look good. But just tossin my idea out there. Thanks man, actually that is already the plan, except that is what the 2 side windows are for. But thanks anyway! I'd leave the top blank, its nice and clean just like the rest of the car. You got some skills man shits gonna be epic when its finished. Thanks bro, and yeah I have decided to leave it blank up there. I think it will look cleaner overall. Only one way to find out! Okay so I have got a couple of updates. One now, one later, after this weekend. For now, lets talk about building some custom subs. At the request of my friend Scotty, here are some progress pics so far. First off in case you missed it I am building 5 total custom 15" subs, using Kicker Solo X 18 motors on TI frames. I am planning on making some modifications to the motor to fix the issues of the coil. The first one will be my test sub, or "prototype" to see if my modifications will work. But first I need to collect parts, that's what I've been up to. Got three motors so far: Two of which are in pretty nice shape But the third one had a little issue. When I went to split the frame and motor, the top plate shifted on me. This may have turned out to be a blessing in disguise... To fix it, I had to remove the top plate So this gave me an idea: While the top plate is off, why not have it machined to take a better coil? So that's what I am attempting, I dropped the plate off a few days ago. They are also gonna countersink the 4 holes where the studs come thru, and drill and tap the new bolt pattern. If this works out as planned, this sub will take ~3K instead of the 2K it would be if done by PSi. My fingers are crossed! So ordered my frames, they got here yesterday. I am using TC Sounds TI frames. Brand new. (All parts other than the motors will be brand new!) = SEXY!!! Turns out these are way different than the SS XXX frames, but still useable. But I am going to have to either have the center bored, or have spacer rings made. I'll probably just have the center cut out on this first one. My new avi (BEAST!!!) Here it is beside a 10" DC Audio lvl 3 m2, just for size comparison. I can't wait to get this built!!! Stay tuned, and thanks for lookin'!
