good budget sound deadening material

Recommended Posts

I have about 130ft2 (2 layers) of Ultimate B-Quiet in my Ranger.

Works great IMO and has stood up to a -30c winter and +30c summer with no problems.

Cost under $3 per ft2 when purchased by the 50ft2 roll, thats not including shipping though.

Dude. .. that's horrid! well now I'm sey I even tried to be cheap lmbo. that's just sad bro... its nice to see that someone actually had experience with it and pics...

oh and who makes a good foam insulation for the floor? for a decent price... because if I'm gonna do it... I'm gonna DO IT! if nothing else I'll go with that of the brand I chose either SS or stinger :D

I use neoprene. I got it off of amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Sponge-Neoprene-Thick-54-Wide/dp/B003IDDV70/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1374619538&sr=8-2&keywords=neoprene

You can also use ccf(closed cell foam) There are a few places that sell it online.

I used both in my most recent build ... Dynamat & the neoprene ... Both 1/4" & 1/2" ... doubled up on the 1/2" for my baffle ... between it & the rear steel deck.

Whats the best placement of sound dampening material next to full coverage? I just want to get some road noise down. Mostly from my tires.

I almost went with Shok. Russ is great and their products are intense. But $210 shipped for 40^2'...no thanks.

Audiotechnix is probably going to be the best for the price it's being sold at now. 40^2' for $117 shipped to me and it's great stuff.

Stinger is great, second skin is better but definitely a lot more expensive. You can get the stinger for much less.

Dynamat is hardly budget stuff, lol.

That SQ Mat does look cool, but even that was like $175 shipped to me. Its hard to rationalize testing these out when there are much cheaper that work great.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
