This is NOT a bashing thread, nor is it a promotional one, so please don't turn it into that. I just don't understand all the hatred towards them, and would like for you all to explain it to me. Are you just following the internet trends? Or have you personally had bad experiences with them? Please discuss! Again, NO BASHING PLEASE. This thread is for informational purposes only. I'm looking for actual reasons to hate them, the way so may people online do. So lets keep this civil, and get to the bottom of all the hatred. So, what's your reason? Real96SS Posted June 9, 2013 Report Share Posted June 9, 2013 I had L7 15's in my Impala for 3 years never had a problem with them running off 1 2500.1 My only problem with kicker was that they have a big gap in their models. I wanted something that could handle more power than the L7 but I would have had to buy a Solo sub which for the cost wasn't worth it. That's when I switched to Fi and haven't looked back. An to me the quality just doesn't seem there. I don't mind some of there amps tho. An I have heard there component speakers an it sounded pretty decent. (on there way here) atomic at-3000.1 (soon) 146.2 outlaw @39hz., bad alt an bad batt when termed (old 2 12" build) alpine 6.5s in doors infinty 4x6s in dash. clarion cz201 HU. mechman 240a H/O alt stuff i still need. SHCA 2/0 wire SHCA 1/0 to 2/0 adapters Atomic AT-3000.1 Lots of sound deadner new mids an highs, still debating on what to do. A few Deka g31 batts. I followed your last build, and was just waiting haha Now, to answer your question.. Its not that I dont like Kicker.. its that I find many of the people who run them annoying. In their opinion, Kicker > everything else. Dont get me wrong.. Im not singling Kicker out.. I have the same feeling towards many Sony and RF "guys." I dont think that their products is bad at all.. In fact, I run a RF T1500-1bdCP. Because i had personally set up kicker systems for people and they've always sounded horrible. No matter what tuning, a custom box, what song, anything... They've always sounded cheap and bad. Dont get me wrong they are LOUD, but they arent for me. And one thing, i actually have no problem with their amps. Their powerhouses for sure, but because of the price... No thanks, not enough reward for me. And also, as stated above, i dont like the audience or the people who sell them. Kids who think they're the shit because they have they're thousand watt amps and pre fab boxes. Point being that apparently 2 decent subs sound like 4 l7's to other people? Sounds like the normal audio stuff, DC dd sundown skar AA sq psi and others have better performance then an l7 according to them. Again this is all according to them not me.
