My SSD is a tad under powered and still surprises the hell out of people everytime they hear it. 800-1000w is really the sweet spot for SSD's as a daily application. Much more than that...and you start fucking people in the head like fox does ;):morepower1:

Never smelled coil on mine...that's saying something. When I first got it, I had it in a super shit box and used the gain and bass boost as volume knobs. Not once did I smell coil, and it probably played at 10v.

what is your budget for subs OP?????

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_26139_Rockford-Fosgate-T1500-1bdCP-2010-Model.html

Getting this Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bdCP amp and I'm not sure which pair of 15" FI subs to get with it.

All of them are within my price range except for the SP4 series.

I ask because it seems like I've read that you should closely match the RMS of your speakers to your amp.

I really like the Q15's but I'm worried that they'll be underpowered as their RMS is 1500 watts and my amp will only put out about 1700 at 2 ohms which would be split.

I want to put them in a ported box and they'll be accompanied by 4 JBL component speakers powered by a Rockford Fosgate T600-4. What options should I select on the sub? And if someone could tell me what size and port tuning to use that would be great too.

Thanks in advance!

beaker- I know this sounds like a lot of anime bullshit, but it is true.

What do you want to accomplish with your system? How much space? How are you gonna get a good unbiased recommendation? Each sub is built to perform differently. You can't just look at RMS and make your choice. What kind of music do you listen to?

I love the Fi q's. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying a pair of 15's. but maybe the BL better suits your needs? Maybe some SSDs will do the trick. Give more info but you can't go wrong with Fi

I love FI/AA as much as the next nuthugger...but they're not made of unicorn horns and gryphon dick. You can make any sub smell, especially if you push them to the limits.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
