bkolfo4
How did you measure the impedance? Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz. bkolfo4
What kind of meter allowed you to measure impedance while the sub was playing? Did you measure voltage and amperage separately and calculate impedance? Joe X
Just a multimeter set to measure impedance Measuring the impedance profile of a speaker correctly is serious business: http://www.klippel.de/measurements/transducer-parameters/electrical-impedance.html There are a number of methods to measure it, one "free" way to do it is using the ARTA software. And then there are some commercial devices to do it. Not sure any of this is helping your thread though.
Tarball
Working as intended....closing the ticket. Moral of the story...in your particular ride if you want to hear lower lows better you will have to tune the box lower. If you want peak SPL port the box at your cars resonant freq. n8ball2013
Im not sure why you guys jumped all over him. Provided that it is his net cubic feet that box is fine. MY DDs are in 4.25 each and they like bigger boxes than the FIs do. That really was pretty messed up of you guys to just jump all over him for no reason wasnt it? Especially when the information he gave provided you with no merit for it. AMI CUSTOMS
You don't have to worry about that SP4 unloading on 3500 watts at any tuning frequency that you mentioned in the enclosure you described. Now if you had 2 3500s then you might be worried or I would be, but not on just one.
