think everyone's forgetting something.....the person that called the cops. More times than not in these stories it's always some asshole whose got nothing better to do than complain or "raise awareness" by calling the cops before they know what's actually happening. It's not only the school districts; it's people in general who are getting way too over-cautious about shit like this.

From what the news said today was they where in the yard but shooting at friends at the school bus stop. That changes things. The spot where kids stand to get picked up for school is school property.

Lol, this is in Virginia Beach. Go figure. Overreacting is common for damn near everyone down here. Do a slow roll through a stop sign instead of a complete stop, and you'll have at least 3 marked police vehicles show up and possibly 2 unmarked vehicles. This will end up blowing over and getting dropped most likely, but this is a commonwealth, so I really wouldn't be surprised if the state wants to pick up the case and try these kids for terrorism.

School rules do not end once the student leaves the building

The rules apply until the child sets foot into the home

The school board is responsible for the students transportation/safety

I assume these kids had to go inside their house to get their air-soft guns. End of discussion

Believe me I understand the concern, but paranoia is not a valid reason to deny liberties and freedom and allow overstepping of authority. In this case they have gone too far in my opinion.

For me i was suspended in 7th grade for fighting while waiting for the bus in the morning. My school policy was from the time you leave your house to the time you get back home after school is considered "school time." It was in the student handbook
