jessdabest77 Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 Ok,first, the equipment is two AQ HDC3 15's D2,two AQ2200's,three D34 Optima's,two run's of 0/2 welding cable, and a 2002 Nissan Frontier ext cab truck.I had built it for comp's,and it did well,152.7db,but now I'd like to see it do hairticks.I never could with the old box set up.I'm not really into competing anymore, just trying to play low and of course, the hairtrick's.What can I do to achieve this. The old box was 8cf,with 130 sq. in. of port, tuned to 38hz..Sub's and port up.Can it be done?Thank's in advance.
__d_a_v_i_d__ Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 Port tune to 38hz ? I seen high freq hairtricks but they usually have alot more power ! Tune below 34hz . With lots of port . As far as sub/port orientation... I'm not familiar with trucks ... slowfkncar Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 Everyone is pretty much dead on,140sq"/8 cubes/30-32hz Might want to look into a high output alt if you don't have one already, them low notes can be much harder on your electrical, you already have the right stuff, just new enclosure!

__d_a_v_i_d__ Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 there's this myth out there about dd/aq subs.. they are loud as shit when tune to 37hz/38hz, that's like most people daily/spl box. but i have seen alot of people who love the lows more than anything get a hold of hdc and dd9500s. and they also destroy the lows !! dont let the high FS scare you, i think thats before break in.. but my old dd9500 10s murder the lows.. so you can tune it low.. its all in the box and installer !!!! kickass audio Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 I really can't speak much for what to do for hair tricks and stuff because I can't do one even with my big ass box and port area I have with a 30Hz tuning. It ruffles your hair but doesn't do a hair trick or shirt trick but it will flex the shit out of all the windows, doors, hatch roof, really any part of my truck with a single 18. I was really sad but it sounds pretty good for it so im fine with not doing hair tricks for the sound of it so don't be sad if you can't get one in yours. 2004 GMC Envoy1 XS power S3400 batt under the hood and 4 XS Power D3100's battery installed in the rear by the amps0 gauge power wire from front to backAlpine iva-w205 touchscreen dvd/cd/mp3/ipod/am/fm/gps headunitSundown Audio SAX-200.4 amp for my mids and highs8 gauge speaker wire from amp to woofer270 amp Mechman AltRockford Fosgate T1652-s component speakersRockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 sound processorRca's from Rockford Fosgate and Monster Cable14 gauge speaker wire for the mids and highs1 18" Ascendant Audio SMD Dual 1 ohm with custom Black & Blue carbon fiber and hand signed dustcapBox: 5.66 cubic feet net volume box tuned to 30.13Hz with 1.5" wide wooden dowels and 1.5" thick baffle1 DC Audio 5.0k amp wired to .5 ohms nominal with an imp rise of 1.35 ohms for the single AA SMD 18"Future Vision 8000k 50w bi-xenon projector HID's with 4300k 35w fog lightsLink to my build: Buildupdates/progress

graham0599 Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 AQ fs is on fresh out of the box subs. As they break in, it gets lower. Look at The Black Nasty, insane hairtricks and lows. Like they said, tune low like 28-30hz and LOTS of port area. Subs and port up would probably be best, but in my Dodge Dakota I had subs forward and port up with 2 15's on 3k. It could pull a small hair trick but was tuned to 34hz My 350z build- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/174424-2008-350z-build/page-2?hl=%2B350z+%2Bbuild#entry2605678
