kingsuv
Sure the bits are pricey. Any good tool is. But it doesn't take long for the price of the tape to add up. Is it for everyone? No. But if you are going to get serious about inserts then its an investment worth making. I haven't made too many things with inserts but I'm already over what the bits cost. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
Rell
It is a rabbet bit.. takes off .030 Using a 1/8th" rabbet will leave the insert loose. This allows the parts to snap together Will depend on the material and if foam backing is being used.

What his wants are, and what he gets for his $89 box are 2 different things and all he will get from his want list at that price is a carpeted cheap box that most likely wont be the best choice for his woofers. CarAudioFab
Nice review, I got a set of the FitKit bits from Micah too, this is going to save me so much flipping tape. Just a heads up that he is also releasing a kit that over/under sizes by 1/64" (.0156). This would be for use of primer and painted inserts. Another nice thing on the fit kit bits is they use a standard size bearing, you don't have to buy a new bit when the bearing goes bad, simply swap it out with a readily available bearing. Haha I laughed when I read how it feels like Cool Whip, as odd as that sounds its true, it feels like there is air inside of it. -Mark Host of "CarAudioFabrication" - YouTube Car Audio Tutorial Channel Check out my forum section here on SMD for my builds and tutorial videos! Rell
We need a vid of the bits. I haven't been on mobilesolutions site in a while, smart spreaders? Really? lol I made a thread on Fiberglass forums few years ago or so about taking a regular spreader and cutting a notch/shape into it exactly like those to achieve a desired contour. kingsuv
Yeah I feel pretty stupid that I have notched spreaders to make a contour I wanted, and those guys made them to sell. Oh well enough beer to create a great idea..... too much beer to actually do something with it. Designing, building, and shipping boxes.
