Buying used batts local, any advice?-EDIT: Got them!

Recommended Posts

Got in contact with somebody who's selling an XP2500 and XP3000 which are ~6 or 7 months old he says. Just wanting to hear any advice I can before I go meet up with the guy. He's local so I'm gonna be meeting him somewhere, was thinking an Autozone or something like that would be a great idea that way I could get the batts tested before I buy them. Just wondering what I need to know to look for. Batts rested at 13.41v in his pics which is really good

Just haven't really bought much used stuff so I want to make sure I'm well prepared. Thanks for reading!

Edit: And even if it's just something simple and seems like common sense like check for no bulges, I'd still appreciate it!

I was going to say check for bulges but you have that covered it seems. Load test is a good idea.

Load testing is genius. I would check for any small cracks as well because that could present some issues.

750??! Yeah, fuck that. Fuck this website, fuck SMD, fuck Steve, fuck all of his butt buddy mods, and their couches.

you want to check resting voltage and for any cosmetic defects. if possible go to a battery dealer and have them load tested. resting voltage should be 12.7+, 13+ is ideal however

Appreciate the help guys! Went and picked them up yesterday at an Autozone and they were fine! 2500 rests at 13.3 and the 3000 rests at 13.06ish!

The xp3000 on top is the one I've had for a while now, two on bottom are new. 2500 went to a buddy of mine. $300 for both the bottom batts, what a steal
