What product or tool would make your car audio installation easier/better?

A wire puller tool. It makes it 10 times easier to run RCA's and speaker wire.

I use the RCA puller tool that came in one the install tool kits I got from SE.. You can also get fiberglass rods at harbor freight for cheap. they're for running electrical, phone, cable, etc. wires in home walls but work great in car installations since they're so flexible..

I have that kit personally. Pretty much everyone who works here who installs has this kit. Here's the link if anyone's intrested: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_24356_Scosche-TK12.html

I've always thought it would be a cool idea to have something made out of like Nylon that goes over the surround of a sub to act as a protector to prevent your drill our impact from jumping and putting a hole through the surround. A jig of sorts. I have almost considered making some out of a couple layers of MDF that will allow you to press the jig against the sub to allow for easier mounting and drilling.

One of these will work too.

I would really like cheaper SMD products. I mean they're great,I love my DD-1/CC-1 but I just think the prices are a bit high IMO.

Can't ask for more

can ask for a cheaper price though. Not saying I won't buy them still but I have to wait for some big sale on them for me to get them.

The reason most consumer electronics are so cheap is that they are mass produced in China/India/etc.

Producing products in the millions greatly reduces the price of components and labor.

While making items cheap it also introduces quality issues and short warranties.

I like the fact that an American company is doing products like this and I'll pay for it.

At smaller quantities there are engineering costs and whatnot that need to be recouped.

Understandable that people want things for a reasonable price but you have to take all things into consideration.

Going off of this idea, I always played with the thought of a sub dollie. Something to hold the back end of the sub if your mounting it horizontally.....possibly extendable for those who have walls and need it to reach higher....4 casters on the bottom for easy rolling and swivel.
